Where and when do we race? The club races two distinct seasons, the road season – April to October and the track season November through to March. The road course is currently at Minmi/Blackhill and caters for all grades. Racing is held each Saturday afternoon at 2.00pm. The course is undulating, with a couple of nice short climbs, but the road is fast and the racing is ideal for riders planning to ride in state opens whether they be A or E grade. Please see our HDCC Road Program for further details. Criterium racing is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at Steel River Industrial Complex, off Channel Road. Summer start times usually 8am and in winter at 8.30am. Please double check the HDCC Road Program A link to the Steel River Location map is HERE The track or summer season has seen one of our popular events gain in stature each year. Racing is held on Kooragang Island at 6.00pm every Friday during daylight saving. The course is flat and makes for some very quick racing in all grades with some great bunch sprints on possibly the widest roads that cyclists could hope to ride on. Track racing is currently run by the Velodrome Regional Trust and racing is held each Wednesday evening from 7.00pm. |
